Class Placement

  • A lottery system will be used if there is more demand for a class than there is space available.
  • Special Consideration: Students who were placed on a waitlist for a class last session will have priority placement for that particular class. *A registration form for each student is still required.*
  • An acceptance letter will be emailed to you (or placed in your child's green folder if no email address is given) approximately one eek after the regular registration period ends and only if your child has ben accepted to a program.
  • If a program goes to a lottery and your child does not secure a spot in a class, we will email you a wait-list letter notifying you that your child is on the waitlist for that program in case a spot opens up.
  • Every effort will be made to place students in their preferred class, but please be aware that we cannot always accommodate every request. We work hard to provide every child with a placement in at least one program.
  • Please do not register your child for a program unless you are fully committed to take a place.

Financial Aid

Limited financial aid opportunities are available for those who qualify.  Please indicate your request at the time of registration.  Kindly note: if approved and accepted into a class, financial aid is available for one class per child per session.

Class Withdrawals & Refunds

  • During the registration period you may withdraw your registration request for any reason. To request a withdrawal and/or a refund (if applicable), you must contact Baroody Camps at [email protected]After the registration period has closed, Baroody Camps cannot guarantee a full refund for any class(es).  If your child does not enjoy their program for any reason, a request to cancel may be made to [email protected] NO LATER than 48 hours after the second class date.  No refunds or credits will be issued after this deadline.  Some programs may require a return of equipment or supplies before a refund can be processed.
  • All refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis & must be discussed with Baroody Camps directly. The Douglas MacArthur PTA is NOT responsible for issuing credits/cancellations for any of the classes.
  • Late registrations may be permitted at the discretion of the vendor and school. There will be no late registrations after the second class of any program. Late registrations will no longer be offered at a prorated rate. Exceptions may apply for extenuating circumstances, please email us at [email protected].

Arrivals to Programs

Teachers will receive an electronic and paper copy list of their students participating in Enrichment programs. They are asked but NOT required to remind students attend their programs. Students should arrive to their class locations after school to meet their instructor. We also ask parents to remind their children each morning.

Please also feel free to remind teachers and/or Campagna & Rec Center staff that your child will be attending class.

Dismissals from Programs

It is imperative that you indicate the dismissal arrangements for your child on the registration form. Please note that it is not permissible to be late for pick-up. If you are late more than two times, your child will no longer be able to participate in the program. Please be aware that school personnel will not be available at this time to supervise your child.

  • Parent Pick-Up (Walker Parent, Walker Caregiver): Parents/caregivers must pick up children promptly. All After-School Enrichment Programs participants will be dismissed outside of door #20. Parents/caregivers must sign their child out
  • Recreation/Campagna Centers: Students attending the Recreation Center or the Campagna Center after school will be escorted to the appropriate locations following the class.
  • Activity Bus: MacArthur’s activity bus will be available to all students. Students going home on the activity bus will be escorted to the main entrance for dismissal. The activity bus leaves between 4:15-4:20pm
THERE WILL NOT BE A BUS FOR SPRING 2023 CLASSES.

Changes to Dismissal: You are responsible for notifying Baroody Camps ([email protected]) of any changes to your child’s regular dismissal process from his/her after-school program. Baroody Camps will provide each MacArthur teacher and each after-school program Instructor with a list of children participating in the various after-school programs along with their dismissal instructions.

Standards of Behavior

We want to ensure that all students participating in the clubs enjoy the experience.

  • It is expected that all students will abide by ACPS classroom and school rules and regulations during clubs.
  • Instructors are experienced at using classroom management techniques to allow misbehaving children time to adjust. If a child continues to have difficulties, he or she will be removed from the club and remain with the onsite coordinator who will decide if and when the child can return to the club that day and inform parents about the situation.
  • If the child is removed from that club a second time, the child will be withdrawn from that club for the remainder of the session. The parents and school will be informed of this decision. No partial refunds will be given in these situations. We look to all parents to support our instructors so all of our children can have an enjoyable experience.
